The 1878 Three Cent Piece had a mintage of just 2,350 proof coins. The composition of these coins is 75% copper and 25% nickel. The diameter is 17.9mm.

Grading Information:
  • G4 Good - Date and legends complete, but worn. III is smooth.
    VG7 Very Good - III is half worn. Rims are complete.
    VF20 Very Fine - Three quarters of hair details show.
    EF40 Extra Fine - Slight, even wear.
    AU50 Almost Uncirculated - Slight wear on hair curls, above the forehead, on the wreath and the numeral III.
