Cumberland Gap National Historic Park Quarter



The Cumberland Gap National Historic Park Quarter is the second of 2016 and the 32nd overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. The obverse design of the Cumber Gap Park Quarter features a frontiersman gazing across the mountains to the West.  Many pioneers used Cumberland Gap on their journey into the western frontiers of Kentucky and Tennessee. Inscriptions are “CUMBERLAND GAP,” “FIRST DOORWAY TO THE WEST,” “KENTUCKY,” “2016” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
