San Francisco Mint Morgan Silver Dollars were minted in San Francisco, California from 1878 - 1921. The coins were designed by George T. Morgan. The mintmark "S" (for San Francisco) is located beneath the bow on the reverse of the coin. Each coin is 38.1 mm in diameter and are 90% silver and 10% copper. Morgan Silver Dollars are one of the most collected of U.S. Coins due to the size and beauty of the design itself.
