The 1949-D Franklin Half Dollar had a mintage of just 4,120,600. The composition of these coins is 90% silver and 10% copper. Each of these Franklin Half Dollars contain .36169 troy ounces of silver. The diameter of these coins is 30.6mm, and they were minted from 1948 - 1963. The designer was John Sinnock who also designed the dime a few years earlier. These Silver Franklin Halves were minted at the Denver mint.

Grading Information:
  • VF20 Very Fine - At least half of the upper rand lower incused lines on the rim of the bell must show.
  • EF40 Extra Fine - Wear will be visible at top of end curls and hair back of ears. Liberty bell will show wear at top and on lettering.
  • AU50 Almost Uncirculated - Traces of wear on cheek, hair left of shoulder and left of ear. Traces of wear along lettering and rim at bottom of reverse.
