The reverse shows a saguaro cactus, prickly pears, and other distinctive southwestern vegetation, with a central banner declaring "Grand Canyon State" and a view of the Grand Canyon under the rising sun. The coin also shows the legends "Arizona 1912" and "2008 E Pluribus Unum".
