With 196 million struck, a worn 1917 cent costs under $1, an XF about $6, and uncirculated examples $21–$35 (USA Coin Book). But check the date and motto first: the 1917 Doubled Die Obverse (FS-101) shows clear doubling on the date and IN GOD WE TRUST, and it turns this pocket-change coin into $186 in Good, $500 in VF, $1,500+ in XF, and $4,000–$8,600 uncirculated.
It's one of the most valuable doubled dies in the whole Lincoln series — and most examples were found by people who simply looked twice.
