What's a 2004-D Florida state quarter worth?

A circulated 2004-D Florida quarter is worth face value. Uncirculated, most Mint State coins retail for under $7 and MS67 examples bring $10–$50. Condition rarities do exist at the very top: PCGS records an auction high of $550 for an MS69 example — proof that with moderns, the grade is the rarity. There's no famous die variety on the Florida design, so skip any listing hyping an ordinary circulated coin and put your budget into surface quality instead.

To confirm your coin, check the obverse: the mint mark sits just right of Washington's ponytail, and "D" means Denver. The reverse shows the "Gateway to Discovery" design — a Spanish galleon under sail, sabal palms, and the space shuttle climbing skyward. An "S" coin is a San Francisco proof, and 90% silver 2004-S proof versions were struck for collectors.
